In the barn of an animal breeder in Bağlarbaşı village, affiliated with Pazar district of Tokat, a four-horned ram is drawing attention from onlookers.
Mehmet Koçak, who is engaged in animal husbandry in Tokat, noticed that one of the lambs had four horns in a litter, unlike the others. He also noticed that a lamb from the same sheep gave birth to this year also had four horns. Koçak, who has been involved in animal husbandry for 68 years, took the lamb to the veterinarian and learned that this was a rare condition but not a disease. The four-horned ram, now one and a half years old, is leading the other sheep in the barn.
"Has been giving birth to four-horned lambs for two years" Mehmet Koçak, who has been involved in animal husbandry since the age of 7, said that he has encountered such a situation for two years. He stated, "I am 75 years old, but I have been engaged in animal husbandry for 68 years. For the first time in my life, I saw a four-horned ram. For the past 2 years, its mother has been giving birth to four-horned lambs. There was one last year, and there is one this year. It's ready for sacrifice now. There's no problem preventing it from being a sacrifice."
