In the 2023 ORKÖY projects, Bolu Regional Directorate of Forestry provided support in Düzce, offering tractors to 9 families, logging winches to 21 families, and credit support for chainsaws and protective equipment to 14 families.
The Regional Directorate of Forestry continues its support for forest villagers. In this context, a credit of 5 million 100 thousand liras was granted for the acquisition of tractors for 9 families in 7 villages, with 1 million 20 thousand liras of these credits provided as grants. Similarly, for the procurement of logging winches (drums) for 21 families in 12 villages, a credit of 2 million 700 thousand liras was granted, with 540 thousand liras of these credits provided as grants. Additionally, for the procurement of chainsaws and protective equipment for 14 families in 3 villages, a credit of 350 thousand liras was granted, with 70 thousand liras of these credits provided as grants.
The Regional Director, Mahmut Şentürk, mentioned that out of the total credit support of 8 million 150 thousand liras provided to 44 families in 22 villages for production mechanization projects in Düzce, 1 million 630 thousand liras are granted as subsidies. He noted that citizens will repay these interest-free loans for tractors over a 7-year period and for drums, chainsaws, and protective equipment over a 5-year period.
Emphasizing the need for mechanization in production due to the decreasing number of villagers engaged in production activities, Mahmut Şentürk stated that interest-free credit support for the acquisition of production machinery and equipment through Forest and Village Relations (ORKÖY) will continue in 2024, as it did in 2023, to establish professional production teams for year-round production activities.
