The low yield in chestnut production this year has somewhat pleased the producers due to its high quality.
Zekeriya Esenyurt, a producer who mentioned the loss of yield due to weather conditions this year, expressed, "Our chestnuts, well-known in the region for their aroma and quality, have high quality this year, but the yield is low. With the chestnut sorting machine provided as agricultural support to our neighborhood by the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality, we remove the chestnuts from their prickly shells. Meanwhile, depending on its quality and caliber, we sell chestnuts for 110-150 Turkish Liras per kilogram."
The income from the machine is used for the school and the village
It was reported that the chestnut sorting machine, delivered to the neighborhood by the Manisa Metropolitan Municipality, is charged at a rate of 800 Turkish Liras per hour, and the income generated from this is used for the village school and other needs of the village.
