Denizli Metropolitan Municipality to extend Agricultural and Livestock Support in 2024, initiates work on first 8 support projects of the new year.

Announcing the Continuation of Agricultural and Livestock Support Programs, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality, under the leadership of President Osman Zolan, assures thousands of producers of ongoing assistance from pasture improvement efforts to seed support, breeding sheep and goat grants, and tree distribution. President Osman Zolan stated, 'Denizli will be the winner once again,' emphasizing the municipality's commitment to rural development alongside urban services. Continuing its support for farmers and producers in rural areas, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality will extend agricultural and livestock support programs in 2024. Having implemented numerous projects since Denizli gained metropolitan status in 2014, the municipality aims to enhance productivity in agriculture and livestock, supporting citizens in rural areas. The municipality has initiated work on the first 8 support projects for the new year, covering a range of initiatives from pest control to pasture improvement, seed assistance, and grants for breeding sheep and goats. The application process for these projects will be announced separately by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality.
"Pasture improvement project to cover 8 thousand decares"
Denizli Metropolitan Municipality will support approximately 600 producers in the districts of Acıpayam, Bekilli, Beyağaç, Buldan, Çal, Çameli, Çardak, Çivril, Güney, Honaz, Kale, Pamukkale, Sarayköy, Serinhisar, and Tavas through the 'Provision of Yellow-Blue Visual Sticky Traps in Denizli Greenhouses' project. The project, focusing on greenhouses cultivating various products such as tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, parsley, cucumbers, eggplants, and strawberries, aims to support biotechnical pest control. Additionally, the 'Denizli Pasture Improvement (Fertilization) Project' will carry out pasture improvement efforts in approximately 8 thousand hectares across 34 neighborhoods in the districts of Acıpayam, Baklan, Bozkurt, Buldan, Çal, Çardak, Çivril, Sarayköy, and Tavas.
"Support of 70 tons of chickpea seeds to be provided"
With the Yem Bitkilerini Geliştirme Projesi (Forage Crops Development Project) supported by 50%, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality will provide 66 tons of Hungarian vetch seeds in the districts of Acıpayam, Baklan, Bekilli, Beyağaç, Bozkurt, Buldan, Çal, Çameli, Çardak, Çivril, Güney, Honaz, Kale, Pamukkale, Serinhisar, and Tavas; and 56 tons of silage corn seeds throughout the province. As part of the Nohut Üretim Alanlarını Geliştirme Projesi (Chickpea Production Areas Development Project) with 50% support, the municipality will provide 70 tons of chickpea seeds across the province. In addition, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality will continue the Toprak Analizi Desteklenmesi Projesi (Soil Analysis Support Project) in 2024, offering 75% subsidy to help farmers achieve higher quality, productivity, and diversified crops.
"Distribution of 80,000 olive saplings planned"
With the New Olive Grove Project, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality will distribute 80,000 Gemlik olive saplings with a 50% grant to 1,000 producers in the districts of Babadağ, Beyağaç, Buldan, Kale, Merkezefendi, and Sarayköy. Through the Alabalık Üretim Tesislerinde Dezenfektan Kullanım Projesi (Disinfectant Usage Project in Trout Production Facilities), the municipality will provide disinfectant support of over 10,000 liters to more than 100 trout farmers in the districts of Çameli, Acıpayam, Çal, Pamukkale, and Çivril. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality will also continue the successful Small Ruminant Livestock Productivity Enhancement Project in 2024, offering a 75% grant to support the distribution of 600 breeding rams and bucks to producers throughout the province.

Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Osman Zolan reminded that they started providing rural development support throughout the city with the "Metropolitan" status they gained in 2014. Mayor Zolan noted that they have implemented dozens of projects to support Denizli farmers and producers, and he stated, "In the new year, we will strive to fulfill all the needs and demands of our citizens to support rural development. We will continue to stand by our farmers and producers, supporting them with all our means. We have started working on the first 8 support projects for the year 2024. We want our farmers and producers to be happy, and we say, 'Production is yours, support is ours.' These supports will continue to contribute to the agricultural and livestock production of our city. Denizli will be the winner again."
