Ordu Metropolitan Municipality (OMM) not only provides seed support but also offers machine and equipment support to farmers who want to engage in production and agriculture.
As the mechanization of agriculture increases globally and in Turkey, and the urbanization process accelerates the population loss in rural areas, the lands that have fallen into disuse are being reclaimed for agriculture through the projects of Ordu Metropolitan Municipality.
In 4.5 years, Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, which has brought 32,000 acres of fallow land back to agriculture and provided seed support to farmers, has established an Agricultural Machinery Park containing a total of 28 machines, including soil tillage machines, harvest and threshing machines, and spraying machines, as part of the 'Improvement of Agricultural Mechanization Infrastructure Project in Ordu Province.'
The machines, leased to producers who want to farm on their land but cannot do so due to the need for machinery, provide an opportunity for other producers to use them after being used, all for symbolic fees.
Producers reduced costs with machine and seed support
Farmers who applied to the Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock Services to plant forage crops in the autumn season and used the machines they received in planting activities were very satisfied with the machines.
Producers in the Çamaş district, who processed 100 acres of land and planted forage crops in three days, expressed that they were greatly relieved by the support of agricultural machinery and seeds. Citizens stated that they saved a significant amount of both economically and in terms of time, expressing their thanks to Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler and everyone involved in the support of agricultural machinery and seeds.
On the other hand, in addition to the areas where forage crops are planted under hazelnut trees throughout Ordu, there are 94,290 acres of land suitable for mechanized agriculture. The support provided by the agricultural machinery brand will continue to provide great convenience to producers in these areas for production.
