The cooperative will provide benefits to both producers and its own structure with two major investments.
Ismail Özer, the President of Söke Tariş 131st Cotton and Oil Seeds Agricultural Sales Cooperative, stated that they will establish a state-of-the-art Sawgin facility from the United States that preserves cotton quality to the highest extent. The American-made Cherofee Magnum 270 Sawgin facility, capable of pressing 30 bales per hour, is currently being installed at the Sarıkemer facilities. This unique facility in Turkey, planned to be operational before the harvest begins, will be a structure that best preserves cotton quality and will be an important step towards branding Söke cotton. President Ismail Özer said, "This facility will be the best in preserving cotton quality, and we will take a significant step towards branding Söke cotton. This will benefit both the producers and Söke. High-quality cotton will also bring great gains to the yarn and textile sector."
"Becoming the first cooperative to generate its own electricity"
Before the season starts, the cooperative will install a solar energy (GES) system as a second investment. Ismail Özer stated that the project, applied for approximately two months ago, has been approved, and production of 1 megawatt of solar energy will commence at the central facilities within a month. Ismail Özer expressed that they will start producing their own energy from August onwards, stating, "As soon as the work at the central facilities is completed, we will also integrate the Sarıkemer and Güllübahçe facilities with solar energy. We plan to reduce energy expenses to zero and even make profits from energy."
"The producer will win, Söke will win"
Ismail Özer, emphasizing the significance of these two investments, stated, "These projects are investments made by the strength of Söke Tariş itself. We wanted to announce these innovations to our partners and producers. We are significantly increasing Söke Tariş's operating capacity. We are making every effort not to disadvantage the producer, to defend their rights, and to reduce input costs."
"We will keep up with the times"
Ismail Özer pointed out the rapid development of technology and stated that they will keep up with technology with the introduction of the latest Sawgin machine and solar energy. He said, "We will continue our support in line with the interests of farmers and producers. With the new Sawgin machine system, Tariş-branded cotton will become sought after, which will benefit the producer."
